Yard Truck (OSHA)

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Yard Truck (Terminal Tractor) training course is compliant with regulations, and our online version meets classroom training requirements. Each module includes sections on the basic structure and pre-shift inspection of the truck; Safe Operations; Common Hazards; and Case Studies. During this course, we analyze the functionality and parts of a yard truck. We will also highlight the importance of conducting a thorough pre-shift check before operating the equipment. We will discuss several aspects of safely operating a Yard Truck, including how to securely attach and detach a trailer; how to safely move a trailer; and how to correctly position or part a trailer. The course also reviews the appropriate PPE that should be worn while operating a yard truck. We will also cover some of the more prevalent hazards associated with yard trucks and discuss how to identify, avoid, or minimize them. This course includes intermittent practice quiz questions to prepare for the final written exam included with the course. In addition to the written exam, this course also includes a checklist for employers to use when administering a practical exam as required by OSHA. Even though you will still need to acquaint yourself with all other relevant federal, state, and local standards, this training covers the following laws and regulations:
