Introduction to Industrial Hygiene

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Introduction to Industrial Hygiene online course explores how Industrial Hygienists scrutinize the working environment, pinpoint potential hazards that could negatively impact workers’ health and safety, and devise strategies to mitigate or reduce these risks. Industrial hygiene is described as… “The scientific and artistic practice of predicting, identifying, assessing, and managing environmental stressors or factors originating in or from the workplace that could lead to illness, compromised health and wellness, or substantial discomfort among workers or community residents.” While this definition may seem complex, what does it truly imply? And what are the responsibilities of an Industrial Hygienist?

This course extensively covers areas such as worksite evaluation, air pollutants, chemical and biological threats, physical threats like noise, vibrations, light, temperature, heat, and radiation, ergonomic threats, and more. Leveraging an effective mix of audio, full-motion visuals, text, and vibrant graphics, this course delivers the most budget-friendly safety and regulatory compliance training presently available.
