Canadian Heavy Truck Weight and Dimension Program

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Canadian Heavy Truck Weight and Dimension Program is a comprehensive course that provides an in-depth understanding of the NSC Standard 10 Cargo Securement. This standard enforces regulations for weights and dimensions of commercial vehicles that traverse provinces and territories.

The program originated in February 1988 when the Council of Ministers, in charge of transportation and highway safety, approved a memorandum of understanding aiming to enhance uniformity in regulations governing weights and dimensions of commercial vehicles across provinces and territories. Since its inception, the program has undergone eight amendments, with the latest one rolled out in 2014.

This course not only offers a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian Heavy Truck Weight and Dimension Program, but also focuses on the various aspects in which the regulations differ across provinces.

The program is the brainchild of Dr. Randy Flemmer, a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in driver education and fleet safety.
