Target Audience: Supervisors and Employees
The Essence of CA SB553
All employers in CA (excluding facilities protected under Title 8 section 3342, and businesses with 10 or less employees with no public contact) are mandated to:
- Formulate a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan with worker contribution
- Provide training to the entire staff inclusive of your specific Workplace Violence Plan
- Implementation date: July 1, 2024
- Offer training annually, during hiring, when the WVPP is revised, or new threats emerge

Crucial Information!
To fully comply with CA SB553 regulations, your company’s Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) MUST BE INCORPORATED INTO THE TRAINING.
Participants will be prompted to upload a copy of their WVPP and to acknowledge access and the opportunity to contribute to the WVPP development and execution as necessitated by SB553.
If you are procuring the course for your staff, distribute a copy of the WVPP before providing log-in and notify them that they will need to upload it and acknowledge access.
