Workplace safety is a joint effort between employers and employees. Under the General Duty Clause (Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act of 1970), employers are required to provide a safe work environment. Employees also play a vital role by recognizing potential hazards, taking steps to avoid or eliminate them, and promptly reporting unsafe conditions.
Workplace safety depends on the shared responsibility of both employers and employees.
