Workplace Safety Basics: Work Environment
As per the General Duty Clause, (Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act of 1970,) OSHA mandates that employers create a safe workspace for their employees. However, each employee also has a responsibility to be cognizant of potential hazards, take steps to mitigate or eliminate them, and notify regarding any unsafe conditions promptly.
The responsibility of ensuring workplace safety is a collective one, shared between employers and their employees.
