These regulations necessitate varying levels of employee training, contingent upon the employee’s direct interaction with hazardous materials. The primary objective of this course is to equip employees with an understanding of the characteristics and behavior of hazardous chemicals, and the means to mitigate or eliminate potential exposure to hazardous materials within their work environments. Hazardous materials and waste are commonplace in numerous work situations and can be encountered on diverse job sites. The essentiality of employees being able to identify these potential hazards, as well as knowing the correct procedures for handling and disposal, is underscored by OSHA’s mandate that anyone working with these substances undergo thorough training in the area of Work Practices and Engineering Controls.
