Utility Vehicle (OSHA)

This OSHA-endorsed safety training course is specially designed for operators of utility vehicles. Areas covered in this curriculum include vehicle anatomy and inspection, safe operation practices, and potential hazards. This course fulfills the classroom instruction component of occupational safety training. It includes a performance checklist that employers can use for practical evaluation. On completion, trainees can download and print a certificate or wallet card documenting their successful completion of the Utility Vehicle training. NOTE: Only employers can certify an employee. Certification prerequisites may vary by state or province. It is advised to review local standards for any further occupational training requirements.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Our Utility Vehicle (OSHA) safety training course is in accordance with OSHA regulations and the online version satisfies OSHA’s classroom training prerequisite. Each module includes sections on equipment anatomy, maintenance and inspections, safe operations and stability, common hazards, among others.

Intermittent quiz questions are incorporated into the presentation to prepare for the concluding written exam included with the course. This course also provides employers with a checklist for conducting a practical exam as mandated by OSHA.

  • 29 CFR 1910.178 – Powered Industrial Trucks
  • ANSI/ITSDF  B56.8 – Safety Standard for Personnel and Burden Carriers
  • NFPA 505 – Fire Safety Standard for Powered Industrial Trucks
  • UL 583 – Safety Standard for Electric-Battery-Powered Industrial Trucks
  • OSHA Act of 1970, 5(a)(1) – General Duty Clause
