The objective of this e-learning course is to foster safe excavation practices and attitudes. It offers comprehensive insights into the process of safe excavation as a part of the ground disturbance process. The course covers a wide range of topics including soil factors, sloping, benching, scaling, trimming, temporary protective structures, alternatives, worker access, and temporary crossing ramps. The course ultimately aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge to plan and carry out safe excavations in accordance with federal and provincial/state regulations, acts, and industry best practices.

The Safe Excavation course is tailored for all individuals, ranging from supervisors, ground disturbers, and excavators to project managers and workers, who require specific training in ground disturbance. This includes understanding soil factors, sloping, benching, scaling and trimming, temporary protective structures, alternatives, shoring, shielding, worker access, and temporary crossing ramps.
Estimated completion time is 120 minutes
Testing during this online Safe Excavation course is aimed at reinforcing the information presented. A score of 80% is required to earn a certificate of completion. If the pass score is not achieved, participants have the option to retake the course as many times as needed.Â
A certificate of completion, valid for 3 years from the indicated course completion date, will be available for download and print upon successful completion of this online Safe Excavation course.
