COURSE OVERVIEW

Our online Rigging (Basic) course entails 3 comprehensive modules that delve into the secure methods and practices of slinging and rigging loads. The contents of this course are crafted with the needs of rigging personnel handling various hoisting equipment in mind.

Rigging (Basic) Course Standards

This course is created with the aim of meeting the criteria of the following standards:

  • CSA Z150-98

It also complies with the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standards.

COURSE TOPICS

The Rigging (Basic) online course encompasses the following subjects:

  • Pre-lift hazard assessments
  • Owner, operator, and supervisor responsibilities
  • Safety factors and safe working load limits
  • Rope and sling inspections
  • Types of rigging hitches
  • Determining sling types, sizes, and configurations using sling capacity charts
  • D/d ratios
  • Sling centre of gravity
  • Crane and hoist signals
ONLINE COURSE DURATION

Estimated duration of 2.5 to 3 hours

PASS MARK

In order to successfully pass this course, a score of 80% is required. Participants are allowed three attempts to achieve the passing score.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of this online Rigging (Basic) course, a certificate of completion will be readily available for download and printing.
