  • Identify various rigging equipment like slings, shackles, eye bolts, hooks, and commonly used lifting devices.
  • Understand the strengths and vulnerabilities of this equipment and the inspection process.
  • Learn to estimate the load’s weight, calculate the angles and stresses of a pick, and familiarize yourself with different methods to secure a load using sling hitches.
  • Grasp the basics of crane operations, including rigging the load based on its center of gravity. Learn about the requirements for critical lifts, tandem lifts, and lifting personnel.
  • Understand safe crane operating principles, including pre-lift planning and inspections. Additionally, we examine the limitations of some equipment and safety features.
  • Recognize the changing conditions of your worksite.
  • Use voice and hand signals to communicate with the crane operator when moving a load.
