COURSE OVERVIEW

This course, Respiratory Protection – Vivid, is designed to provide workers with an in-depth understanding of respirators, their purpose, and the elements that impact their effectiveness. It will discuss the different types of respirators, their capabilities, and limitations. The course will also cover the employer’s role in implementing respirator use, the necessary steps before using respirators, and their maintenance and storage guidelines. Workers will learn about the conditions that allow them to leave a respirator use area, the warning signs indicating a malfunctioning respirator, and how to handle respirator emergencies and malfunctions.

Upon completing the Respiratory Protection – Vivid course, the learners should be able to:

  • Understand the reasons for using a respirator
  • Identify factors that influence the effectiveness of respirators, their limitations and capabilities, and the employer’s duties for respirator use in the workplace
  • Explain how respirators are used in a work setting, including the necessary medical evaluations, fit testing, inspection, seal checks, and their maintenance and storage requirements
  • Determine when an employee can leave a respirator use area, recognize the warning signs of a malfunctioning respirator, and learn the appropriate actions during an emergency situation
