    COURSE OVERVIEW

    The Positive Air Shutdown (PAS) system of a truck is among its most crucial safety components, and it is now a federal requirement for trucks engaged in the conveyance of specific categories of hazardous goods. Yet, a significant number of operators lack basic knowledge concerning the operation and assessment of their PAS systems. 

    This web-based course aims to acquaint commercial vehicle operators with this essential safety tool. It does so by elucidating the workings of Positive Air Shutdown Systems and the elementary procedures needed to accurately assess their operational status. Training in these aspects is fundamental for ensuring a truck’s PAS system is fully operational and can thus adequately safeguard an operator in case of an emergency.
