Pole-Top Rescue (CAN)

This Pole-Top Rescue (CAN) safety training course, compliant with Canadian regulations, is designed for telecommunications employees working at great heights. The training covers aspects such as proper equipment usage, safe operations, bucket rescue methods, and potential hazards. This course fulfills the theoretical part of occupational safety training requirements and includes a checklist for practical evaluation by employers. Upon completion of the Pole-Top Rescue (CAN) course, trainees can download and print a certificate or wallet card as proof of training completion. ATTENTION: Only an employer can officially certify an employee. Certification prerequisites may differ from one state or province to another. Please refer to local standards for any additional occupational training prerequisites.

COURSE OVERVIEW


Our Pole-Top Rescue (CAN) training course complies with OSHA standards, and our online variant satisfies OSHA’s classroom training prerequisite.

This course contains periodic quiz questions to aid in preparation for the final written test included in the course. Alongside the written test, the course also provides a checklist for employers to administer a practical examination as mandated by OSHA.

Course Objectives:
•    Understand safety procedures and operation for rescuing colleagues from powerlines.
•    Master the procedures for operating a MEWP for rescue.
•    Recognize the hazards associated with proximity to powerlines.

Estimated Course Duration: Since everyone learns at their own pace, the duration of this training may vary. However, the projected time for this training is between 0.5-1 hours.

•    Supervisors

CEUs:
•    This course contributes 0.1 CEUs.
•    To earn CEUs, this course must be finished, and the final exam must be passed with a minimum score of 80%.

While you still need to acquaint yourself with all other relevant federal, state, and local standards, this training encompasses the following legislations and regulations:

•    COHS 8.10 Poles and Elevated Structures
•    COHS 12.10 Fall Protection Systems
