This course primarily concentrates on ensuring secure operation while working with the last category - aerial lifts and scissor lifts. It is most suitable for employees who perform tasks on or around these lifts.
At times, our work demands us to reach beyond our normal height. In such circumstances, we often resort to ladders, fixed scaffolds, or mobile equipment like aerial lifts (also known as articulating boom/bucket lifts) and scissor lifts. This course, "Mobile Elevated Work Platforms", primarily revolves around secure operation with the latter equipment. It's specially designed for employees working on or close to aerial lifts and scissor lifts.
The online course, "Mobile Elevated Work Platforms", covers the following areas of study:
- Basics of Mobile Equipment
- Root Causes of Accidents and Preventive Measures
- Pre-Operational Checkpoints
- Worksite Etiquettes
- Platform or Bucket Safety
- Preventing Catapulting and Tip-Overs
- Avoiding Stepping Off or Knocking Off
On completion of the "Mobile Elevated Work Platforms" course, you should be able to:
- Distinguish different types of mobile equipment for out-of-reach work situations
- Understand the significance of pre-operational lift and site inspections
- Identify potential causes of falls from mobile equipment
- Outline measures to prevent falls, tip-overs, and catapulting
- Spot hazards like contact with power lines or moving equipment

Testing is conducted throughout the online course to reinforce the information provided. A score of 80% is necessary to pass the "Mobile Elevated Work Platforms" course. The course can be attempted up to three times to achieve the passing score. A comprehensive student manual is available for download and print, serving as a useful resource for future reference and knowledge retention.
On successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and print.
