Intro to Safety and Health Programs (OSHA)

This OSHA-endorsed safety training course is designed for understanding universal workplace safety protocols. The course encompasses pertinent topics such as leadership in management, employee participation, hazard recognition and assessment, hazard deterrence and control, education and training, monitoring and evaluation, and multi-employer worksite coordination. This course fulfills the classroom requirement for occupational safety education and features a proficiency checklist for employers to conduct a practical assessment. Upon course completion, participants can download and print a certificate or wallet card, demonstrating they have completed the Intro to Safety and Health Programs training. NOTE: Certification can only be ascribed by an employer. Certification criteria may differ by state or province. Consult local standards for any extra occupational training necessities.

COURSE OVERVIEW


The Intro to Safety & Health Programs training course is designed in accordance with regulations and the online format meets classroom training requirements. Each section of this course covers management leadership, employee involvement, hazard detection and assessment, hazard avoidance and control, education and training, program evaluation and enhancement, and multi-employer worksite coordination.

Throughout the Intro to Safety and Health Programs training, we will explore how management plays a key role in implementing a safety and health program. We will also delve into how employees can be actively involved in safety and health program initiatives. We will learn the process of identifying and assessing potential workplace hazards. We will then move on to discuss methods of hazard prevention and control. A section is dedicated to training employees on safety and health program initiatives. Additionally, we will learn how to assess a safety and health program for potential improvements. Lastly, we will discuss additional aspects to consider for worksites involving multiple employers.

This course includes intermittent practice quiz questions to prepare for the final written exam included with the course.
Expected Training Duration: The time you spend on this course will depend on your individual learning pace. However, the estimated time for this training is 1 - 1.5 hours.
