Hot Work Safety (CAN)

This Canadian-compliant safety education program is designed for individuals involved in hot work. The curriculum covers vital areas such as setting up the site safely, operating securely, and understanding the potential risks. This program satisfies the theoretical requirement for workplace safety education and also comes with a proficiency checklist that employers can utilize for a practical assessment. Once the course is finished, participants can download and print a certificate or a wallet card as proof of their completion of the Hot Work Safety training in Canada. NOTE: Only an employer has the authority to certify an employee. The prerequisites for certification can differ from one region to another. Make sure to check your local standards for any further occupational training requirements.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Our Hot Work Safety (CAN) course complies with regulations, and the online version meets the requirement for theoretical training. Each module contains sections on Pre-Shift Inspections, Safe Operations, and more.
Throughout this course, we will explore the specific procedures and tasks associated with hot work. As a part of the Hot Work Safety (CAN) course, you will understand the significance of conducting pre-shift inspections and performing operations safely throughout the shift. We will stress the importance of thorough site inspections before initiating hot work and securing a hot work permit. We will also present case studies to illustrate the detrimental outcomes that can result from neglecting or failing to comply with your hot work responsibilities.
This course includes periodic practice quiz questions to prepare you for the final written examination that comes with the course. Aside from the written test, this course also offers an employer checklist for conducting a practical exam as mandated by OSHA.
While you will still need to familiarise yourself with all other relevant federal, state, and local standards, this training includes the following laws and regulations:

•    NFPA 51B – Fire Prevention in the Use of Cutting and Welding Processes
•    CSA Standard W117.2-12 – Safety in Welding, Cutting, and Allied Processes
•    ANSI Z49.1:2012 – Safety in Welding, Cutting, and Allied Processes
