HAZWOPER: Refresher for Waste Site Workers: Introduction to HAZWOPER

COURSE OVERVIEW

Many workplaces encounter hazardous materials and waste. Recognizing, handling, and properly disposing of these potentially harmful substances is crucial. OSHA has stressed this importance by mandating comprehensive training for anyone dealing with these materials.

In 1976, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to control the handling of hazardous waste. Further regulations have been implemented since, including OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.120, commonly known as HAZWOPER. As part of these regulations, the training requirements for employees vary depending on their level of interaction with hazardous materials.

The HAZWOPER: Introduction to HAZWOPER Refresher course provides employees with an understanding of chemical hazard regulations and offers training on the diverse types of hazardous chemicals present in industrial settings.
