COURSE OVERVIEW

The Hazard Communication Awareness course is designed to help you recognize and understand the key elements of your business’s written hazard communication program, which includes how to: shield yourself from harmful chemicals that are used or stored in your workplace using the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), recognize and respond to label elements, and interpret the contents of Safety Data Sheets.

By successfully completing the Hazard Communication Awareness course, you should be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and significance of a hazard communication program
  • Recognize the physical and health risks linked to hazardous chemicals
  • Identify chemicals and their hazards, using labeling, markings, pictograms, and warning practices
  • Recognize the purpose and components of a Safety Data Sheet
