This module is structured to impart knowledge to employees regarding the national safety guidelines for forklift operation. The program acts as the theoretical component of forklift operator education, typically followed by practical operator instruction and location-specific training. The rules for forklift operation are detailed in 29 CFR 1910. This module will offer elementary knowledge on forklift inspection and upkeep, along with details on refuelling a combustion engine forklift and recharging an electric forklift.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This module is structured to impart knowledge to employees regarding the national safety guidelines for forklift operation. The “Forklift – Inspection and Maintenance” course functions as the theoretical instruction portion of forklift driver training, which is typically followed by practical operator instruction and location-specific training. The rules for forklift operation are detailed in 29 CFR 1910. This module will offer elementary knowledge on forklift inspection and upkeep, along with details on refuelling a combustion engine forklift and recharging an electric forklift.

Upon completion of the “Forklift – Inspection and Maintenance” course, operators will be able to:

  • Detail the process for pre-operation and operational forklift inspections
  • Enumerate and provide details on different types of forklift maintenance
  • Provide the method for refuelling a diesel or liquid petroleum gas (LPG) forklift
  • Describe the process of recharging battery-operated forklifts
