COURSE OVERVIEW

The role of a Fire Watch is to ensure the safety of all individuals at a worksite by preventing fire incidents. Particularly, they are deployed to monitor Hot Work or any operations that generate heat, sparks, or flames. This Fire Watch Training course aims to impart knowledge about fire genesis, prevention measures, and procedures to mitigate the effects of a fire at a worksite.  

The Fire Watch Training course is divided into four main parts:

  • Chapter 1: Fundamentals of a Fire Watch Role 
  • Chapter 2: Understanding Fire Components 
  • Chapter 3: Essential Devices and Equipment
  • Chapter 4: Fire Watch Procedures  

At the end of this Fire Watch Training, you will be assessed through a final exam to evaluate your understanding. 

COURSE TOPICS

Upon completing this course, you are expected to:

  • Define the duties and responsibilities of a Fire Watch
  • Discuss how fires are generated
  • Identify the various types of fires 
  • Describe the different fire extinguishers
  • Understand the basics of fire response 

ONLINE COURSE DURATION

Estimated 60 minutes

PASS MARK

A minimum score of 80% is required to successfully complete the Fire Watch Training course. Participants are allowed to retake the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved on the first attempt.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

After successfully finishing this online course, a certificate of completion is provided for download and print.
