This course equips employees who drive as part of their job, with knowledge on driving hazards and protective measures against potential vehicular accidents. The course doesn't extend to tackle driving requirements for commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) or the usage of a commercial driver's license (CDL). It also doesn't delve into safety issues related to off-road (ATV) vehicles, motorcycles, trailer towing, or load securement in equipment transportation, like in the case of a pickup truck bed.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The “Driver Safety” course imparts employees who have driving as a part of their job responsibilities, with awareness about driving hazards and strategies that will safeguard them against potential vehicular mishaps. This course doesn’t aim to cover driving necessities related to commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) or the operation of a commercial driver’s license (CDL). It also doesn’t cater to safety matters linked with the use of off-road (ATV) vehicles, motorcycles, towing a trailer, or load securement while transporting equipment such as in the bed of a pickup truck.

Upon successful completion of the “Driver Safety” course, you should have a more profound understanding of:

  • Dangerous driving behaviors such as distracted driving, overspeeding, driving under the influence, and fatigued driving; methods to steer clear of harmful driving habits; and the safety perks of seat belt usage and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • How appropriate vehicle upkeep can avert driving mishaps and the advantages of having emergency preparation items in the car trunk.
  • Safe driving methodologies in unfavorable weather conditions, during night-time, and how to remain safe on the road during an emergency situation.
  • Defensive driving practices.
  • The correct way to react to distracted drivers.
  • How to respond appropriately to others using the roadway.
