Distracted Driving (US)
Distracted driving, which involves diverting your attention from the road for a brief period, can lead to mishaps. Distracted drivers, by not focusing entirely on the road, place themselves, their passengers, and other road users in jeopardy. This course introduces strategies that drivers can adopt to stay attentive on the road. It is beneficial for all drivers.
Operating a vehicle while distracted can have dire consequences. Even momentarily losing focus from the road can trigger accidents. Distracted drivers, by not devoting their full attention to the road, pose a threat to themselves, their co-passengers, and everyone else on the road. The Distracted Driving (US) course outlines strategies that drivers can implement to stay concentrated on the road. This course is suitable for all types of drivers.
The online Distracted Driver course encompasses the following subjects:
- Common distractions
- Recognizing and avoiding distractions
- External distractions
- Psychomotor distractions
- Cognitive distractions
Upon completion of this course, you will be equipped to:
- Identify the different distractions that occur while driving
- Apply strategies to evade and reduce distractions
Estimated 30 minutes
Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are available in the form of a comprehensive student manual. The manual is a valuable resource for future use and knowledge retention.
Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
