This digital course educates drivers on the importance of consistent vehicle inspections as per the National Safety Code standards, and provides guidance on how to address potential defects that may be identified.
This web-based driver training course offers comprehensive lessons on how to conduct vehicle inspections in line with the National Safety Code. Unlike most inspection courses that merely list the items to be inspected, our Daily Pre-Trip Inspection course takes a step further by using high-quality videos to demonstrate how truck drivers can carry out the necessary truck inspections. Moreover, this course guides drivers on how to respond to potential vehicle defects detected during an inspection.
Grasping and effectively implementing the vehicle inspection principles outlined in this web-based Daily Pre-Trip Inspection course will help truck drivers maintain their vehicles in top condition for road safety.
This online Daily Pre-Trip Inspection course covers the following topics:
Module 1: Preparing for the Pre Trip Inspection
This segment focuses on the process a truck driver should follow to perform a pre trip inspection, and includes safety measures to be observed during all vehicle inspections. It also discusses the National Safety Code (Standard 13) and its relation to the C.V.S.A. inspection that an enforcement agency may conduct.
Module 2: Inspecting the Air Brake System
This module concentrates on the functioning of air brakes and how to properly execute an air brake test. It also provides examples of potential air brake defects and recommended actions when a brake issue is detected.
Module 3: Defects and Major Defects
This section covers in detail the inspection items listed on a vehicle inspection form and provides information on potential vehicle defects, as well as remedies if those defects are identified.
Module 4: Performing the Inspection
