COURSE OVERVIEW

The CSA: Know the Basics course gives a comprehensive understanding of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and its Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) initiative. The course aims to aid drivers in understanding the CSA program and its impact on them and their carrier. It includes an insight into the seven Behavior Analysis Safety Improvement Categories (the BASICs), the severity and time-weighting of infractions, the calculation of BASIC measures, and FMCSA interventions.

Regulations covered: FMCFR Parts 382, 383, 391, 392, 393, 395, 396, 397, and Hazardous Materials Regulations Parts 171, 172, 173, 177, 178, 179, 180.

Upon completion of the CSA: Know the Basics course, you will gain knowledge on:

PASS MARK

The CSA: Know the Basics course includes tests designed to solidify the information provided. A grade of 80% is required to earn a certificate of completion. If the passing grade is not achieved, users have the option to retake the course twice.

Upon successfully finishing the CSA: Know the Basics course, a completion certificate will be readily available for download and print.
