CSA Intermediate/Standard Workplace First Aid Theory

COURSE OVERVIEW

This endorsed hybrid eLearning Standard First Aid with CPR & AED course is structured for you to finish it at your convenience and speed. Not only will you learn more efficiently, but your learning experience will also be more enjoyable.

The CSA Intermediate/Standard Workplace First Aid Theory course has two parts:

  1. An online first aid theory component
  2. A classroom-based first aid practical skills component

By finishing this online Standard First Aid Theory, you will cover the online first aid theory part of the Standard First Aid with CPR & AED course, and it will prepare you for the practical training session. Each module is comprehensively explained with less technical jargon and includes a useful review portion. The theory component may take up to eight hours to finish depending on your knowledge level, but note that you do not have to complete all of the theory in one seating (one module a day is the suggested pace for maximizing learning). You can log in and out of the course as you wish. If you are interrupted, simply log out and log back in when you have more time, and your spot in the course will be saved.

Once you have completed your theory course, you will be ready for your practical training. The practical training must be taken within two (2) weeks from the last-possible date of completion of the online theory. Register for practical training events offered in your area from your classroom calendar or contact your system administrator for options. Availability and locations are limited. At the practical training session, a certified instructor will be able to answer any questions that you have from the theory course and will then demonstrate a number of first aid techniques, including emergency scene management and treatment for shock, unconsciousness, fainting, adult choking, severe bleeding, and much more. Participants attending the Day-2 Practical Training will be given a Day-2 recap quiz to review everything that was covered online, and only those with a passing mark will be able to participate in the practical training session. The minimum passing mark on the Day-2 recap quiz is 50 percent.
