The Blasting Area Safety course is aimed at raising awareness of the activities that transpire in a blasting area while also outlining the steps of a typical blasting sequence. This course is not intended for blasters and their teams, but for other staff who may be in proximity to a blasting site. The dangers of the site, with a particular focus on flyrock - any material that travels outside the designated blast area boundaries, are examined. The rest of the Blasting Area Safety course talks about the precautions taken by the blaster-in-charge and the blasting crew, as well as measures that should be taken by non-blasting staff.
