Arc Flash Hazard Awareness

This e-Learning course provides a comprehensive understanding of electrical safety, and highlights the risks associated with electrical shock and arc flash hazards. Upon completion, learners will be awarded 0.3 CEU’s by AWWOA

Arc Flash Hazard Awareness

PROGRAM SYNOPSIS

When an electric current flows through air between ungrounded conductors or between ungrounded conductors and grounded conductors, it can generate temperatures as high as 20,000°C (35,000°F). This intense heat can cause severe burns and ignite clothing, worsening the injury. Arc flash burns account for the majority of hospitalizations resulting from electrical accidents. Each year, over 2,000 individuals in the United States are treated in burn centres for severe arc flash burns. Arc Flash can be fatal even at a distance of 3 meters (10 ft).

(CSA Z462 Annex K)

The Arc Flash Hazard Awareness course aims to educate learners about the potential dangers associated with the use of electricity. Regardless of whether you are an experienced journeyman, an apprentice, an engineer, a student, or a manager, this course is crafted to meet your needs.
