This course is intended for supervisors, leaders, and professionals involved in municipal health and safety.

COURSE TOPICS

Upon completion of the Alberta 2021 Legislative Change Overview course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the new or revised definitions of contracting employer, construction work site, serious incident, potentially serious incident, disciplinary action, and undue hazard.
  • Identify 5 major areas of change in the Alberta OHS Act.
  • Identify 3 major areas of change in the Alberta OHS Code.
  • Identify 5 major areas of change in the Alberta WCB legislation.
  • Utilize self-assessment questions to evaluate how each change might affect their organization.
  • Determine what additional resources, including courses, they need to fully understand the impact of the legislative changes.
