COURSE OVERVIEW

The main aim of the “Absences from the Workplace” course is to familiarize employees with federal laws governing workplace absences, including jury duty leave, military leave, and family and medical leave.

Upon successful completion of the “Absences from the Workplace” course, you should gain enhanced comprehension of the following:

  • The entitlement of an employee to both request and receive payment for jury duty leave.
  • The distinctions between jury duty leave and witness leave.
  • The aspects of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act relating to employee benefits, obligations of the employer, rights, duties, and common exceptions.
  • The provisions of the Family and Medical Leave Act regarding employee benefits, duties of both employee and employer, rights, responsibilities, and frequent exceptions.
