API SSO Integration

API SSO Integration

Synchronize Data and Expedite System Access Across Applications

If your company is utilizing a Human Resources Management software, you can now save your company time and money by utilizing an application programming interface (API) technology to seamlessly connect your systems with ours.

  • Our Application Programming Interface (API) allows data transfers of user record information and updates to take place between our Learning Management System and your software application.
  • Integrating a Single Sign-on (SSO) helps increase efficiency by making it quicker and easier for your employees to sign in to multiple applications, including BIStrainer, with one set of credentials.

What is API?

API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. Basically, an API specifies how software components should interact. Our Application Programming Interface (API) allows data transfers of your employee record information and synchronization to take place between our Learning Management System and your human resource software applications. API not only automates and reduces administrative work but it also ensures that our system and yours are always kept in sync.

Using our API with your company’s payroll system to transfer data back and forth to our Learning Management System can automate:

User Management

Create and remove users in our LMS based on your payroll system updates.

Course Assignment

Assign courses to new user accounts based on role, location, or both.

Track Progress

Transfer course completion data, including scores, attempts, average times, and certificates.

Manage Company

Add, remove, or modify company locations and roles.es.

What is SSO?

SSO is an abbreviation for Single Sign-on. Integrating a single sign-on means that you and your team can use a single set of login credentials (user name and password) to login to multiple applications or software systems. An SSO integration means your team can login to your internal company portal or intranet and when they access BIStrainer the SSO will automatically log them in there as well since they have authenticated themselves when they logged in to your portal or intranet.SSO’s improve workplace efficiency by only requiring people to log in once with a single set of credentials, rather than logging in multiple times with different credentials.

Layer of Security

To securely transfer data, our system requires an encrypted authentication token comprised of the following:

BIStrainer Key

Validates that access permission has been granted to our system.

Company Identifier

Confirms which company the user belongs to within our system.

Employee I.D.

Uniquely identifies each employee within the company.

Course I.D.

Determines which courses to add, remove, or report on.

Software Integrations
