Time is an inescapable constraint. It is not possible to add additional seconds to a minute, minutes to an hour, or days to a week. This notion is particularly relevant to professional drivers, who are further constrained by the hours-of-service regulations, designed to ensure fatigued drivers are not on the roads. After lengthy periods of driving, exhaustion can lead to poor judgement and potentially fatal accidents. For the safety of all road users, adherence to these regulations is necessary for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. The Canada Hours of Service Training program is designed to assist drivers and carriers in adhering to these regulations, while also optimising the use of their available hours. This is achieved through a comprehensive understanding of how these limits impact both safety and productivity.

The Canada Hours of Service Training Module 7: Manual Logs provides drivers and carriers with the tools to remain compliant while also optimising the use of their available hours. This is achieved through a comprehensive understanding of how these limits impact both safety and productivity.
It is crucial for every driver to understand how to complete manual logs. Typically, a manual log will be a paper grid log. Drivers who do not qualify for the 160-kilometer radius exception and ELD users who experience a device malfunction need to be well-versed in manually recording their duty status.
Canada Hours of Service Training: Manual Logs is tailored to assist drivers in understanding which fields are mandatory to accurately prepare their record of duty status and how to complete a recap to circumvent violations.
