COURSE OVERVIEW


The 'Prepare Now for an Active Shooter' course emphasizes that an active shooting episode can transpire in any professional setting. This course, grounded in a straightforward preparation and planning methodology, incorporates insights from the most recent FBI studies to supplement the Run-Hide-Fight strategy advocated by the US Department of Homeland Security.

  • Recognize the importance of mentally preparing for an active shooter scenario 
  • Describe how to respond if you hear a sound that may be gunfire 
  • Explain actions you can take to plan your response in advance of an active shooter event.

Estimated completion time: 7 minutes


PASS MARK


Assessment is incorporated throughout the 'Prepare Now for an Active Shooter' course. The test questions are designed to solidify the information provided and must be completed by each participant. To obtain a completion certificate, a minimum score of 80% is required. Participants are granted up to three attempts to pass the course if unsuccessful in the first attempt.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION


Upon successful completion of the 'Prepare Now for an Active Shooter' course, participants will have the ability to download and print a certificate through the learning management system.
