This course is designed to enlighten employees about the obligations of their employers in relation to OSHA reporting and recordkeeping of workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses. It also covers the roles and rights of employees in relation to reporting and records.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This training aims to provide employees with an understanding of their employers’ obligations under OSHA for reporting and recordkeeping of workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses, and to clarify the employees’ roles and rights concerning reporting and records. Particularly, it emphasizes the Work Related Injury and Illness Recordkeeping (WRIIR) standards.

Upon the successful completion of the WRIIR course, you should be equipped with the knowledge to identify:

  • The objectives of OSHA stipulations for employer reporting and recordkeeping of work-related injury and illness and fatality.
  • The categories of organizations required to adhere to the regulations for recordkeeping and reporting of work-related injury and illness and fatality.
  • The criteria for work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • The intent and guidelines for the primary types of work-related injury and illness records mandated under 29CFR Part 1904.
  • OSHA’s measures to ensure privacy in employer recording of work-related illnesses and injuries.
  • The reporting requirements for work-related fatalities, severe injuries (such as amputations or loss of an eye), and hospitalizations.
  • The participation and rights of employees concerning the reporting and recordkeeping of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • The responsibilities of employers in providing records of work-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities for OSHA inspection and investigation.

Testing carried out throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information provided. In order to obtain a certificate of completion, a score of 80% is required. If the pass mark is not achieved, participants have the opportunity to retake the course twice.
