Human Trafficking Awareness for Drivers

COURSE OVERVIEW

Human trafficking is a grave offense. Every day, individuals, regardless of gender or age, are coerced into commercial sex trafficking, forced labour, and domestic servitude worldwide. Unless you are explicitly looking for it, it tends to go unnoticed. Human rights organizations have reported that incidents of human trafficking are escalating at a disconcerting pace. Strikingly, the general public reports most trafficking-related cases to the police. Truckers often visit locations where many of these transactions occur, including motels, eateries, truck stops, rest areas, and fuel stations. This places them in an advantageous position to disrupt existing trafficking networks and enable law enforcement to rescue victims in time.

This Human Trafficking Awareness for Drivers program endeavors to teach drivers to recognize different forms of human trafficking and identify those more prone to becoming victims. It also provides drivers with various methods (phone numbers, text, website) to report to the authorities.
