This training adheres to the standards of the COAA Canadian Model for Ensuring a Safe Workplace.
Upon successful completion of the course ‘Cannabis & the Workplace: Impairment Awareness for Employees’, you will be able to:
- Grasp the concept of impairment and its possible impacts on the workplace.
- Acquire familiarity with typical alcohol and drug-related terminologies.
- Discern the disparity in medicinal and recreational cannabis in terms of impairment.
- Comprehend what awareness implies in an impairment and work context.
- Identify potential symptoms of drug and alcohol misuse.
- Appreciate the necessity of always driving without impairment.
- Recognize when driving can be considered a work-related task.
- Adopt optimal strategies for staying vigilant and addressing impairment situations.
- Understand certain reporting protocols.
- Acknowledge the right to decline unsafe work.

Periodic assessments conducted throughout this online course ‘Cannabis and the Workplace: Impairment Awareness for Employees’ are intended to strengthen the information imparted. A score of at least 70% is required to earn a completion certificate. Should the pass mark not be achieved, participants have the opportunity to retake the course two more times.
Upon successful completion of this online training, a certificate of completion will be readily available for download and print.
