Upon completion of this Bloodborne Pathogens Online course, learners will be able to:
- Understand what bloodborne pathogens are
- Recognize symptoms and treatments for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Identify transmission methods of bloodborne pathogens
- Adopt the practice of treating all blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) as contaminated and handle them accordingly
- Remember safe handling procedures for blood and OPIM
- Recall emergency procedures for blood or OPIM exposure

The testing component of this Bloodborne Pathogens Online course aims to reinforce the information provided. A score of 80% is required to obtain a certificate of completion. Participants can attempt the course three more times if the passing score is not achieved on the first attempt.
