Workplace Safety Basics: In Case of an Emergency

The responsibility of ensuring a safe working environment is a collective effort between employers and their employees. According to the General Duty Clause, (Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act of 1970,) employers are mandated by OSHA to create safe workspaces for their workers. However, each worker must also be conscious of potential risks they might encounter, take proactive steps to mitigate or eradicate them, and report any hazards/unsafe conditions promptly.
