COURSE OUTLINE


COMPONENTS OF THE ELECTRICAL SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM

The Electrical Safety Training Program has been revised to comply with the current guidelines and norms, including the recently amended CSA Z462 - Workplace Electrical Safety and the NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety in the Workplace.

IDENTIFYING HAZARDS AND ASSESSING RISKS

ONLINE COURSE LENGTH


Estimated at 4.25 Hours


MINIMUM PASSING SCORE


Testing conducted throughout each of the three online courses in this suite is designed to reinforce the information presented. A score of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to retake each course twice if the pass mark is not achieved. Supplemental materials necessary to complete each course can be accessed online.


CERTIFICATION OF COMPLETION


Upon successful completion of each online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.


CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU)


This course qualifies for Continuing Education Credits from the Engineering Institute of Canada.

The Engineering Institute of Canada supports continued education for all engineers by recognizing training providers that offer quality courses for professional development.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are one way the Engineering Institute of Canada helps to support professional development. CEUs are recognized by the engineering community at large as providing clear evidence of continued learning in the engineering field.

One CEU is defined as "ten hours of participation in a continuing education program organized in compliance with prescribed standards under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction".

This Electrical Safety Training Program will be beneficial for all individuals who may be required to work with or around electricity. This includes electricians, electrical technicians and technologists, electrical engineers, HVAC technicians, plant operations personnel, Occupational Health and Safety professionals, and all personnel involved in performing electrical switching operations.
