RSTS – Skid Steer Safety
This Skid Steer Safety course offers a comprehensive introduction to the safe handling and operation of Skid Steer Loaders.
One of the most versatile pieces of equipment on any work site is the skid steer loader. A skid steer loader is much smaller and more agile than other machines used in road and heavy construction, so understanding its unique safety concerns is critical for operators. This course will cover safe techniques for operating a skid steer, the role and responsibilities of a competent operator, and will identify the hazards of working with and around skid steer loaders and best practices to minimize risk on the work site.
This e-learning course is intended as an introduction to safe work practices for skid steer loader operation for anyone who works in the road building or heavy construction industries. It is meant to be used in conjunction with employer led practical training on the proper operation of a skid steer loader. The course content includes real worksite video with key concepts and terms reinforced by text and imagery, interactive graphics and quizzes throughout based on on-the-job scenarios. There is a final exam with an 80% pass rate required to complete the course and obtain the certificate
