COURSE SYLLABUS

This Hazmat Training: General Awareness course is tailored specifically for employees involved in hazmat operations – essentially, anyone employed by a hazmat employer and whose role directly impacts hazmat transportation safety. The course aims to acquaint trainees with the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR), ensuring they can operate safely when handling hazmat. This training fulfills the General Awareness training stipulations of 49 CFR §172.704(a)(1).

Upon successful completion of this Hazmat Training: General Awareness course, trainees will be able to:

  • Identify the mandatory training all hazmat employees must undergo
  • Ascertain if a substance is a hazmat and verify its hazard classification in accordance with the Hazardous Materials Regulations
  • Recognize and classify hazmat using shipping documents, markings, labels, and placards

MINIMUM SCORE

The testing conducted in this Hazmat: General Awareness Training course is structured to reinforce the course content. A score of 80% must be achieved in order to earn a certificate of completion. Participants have the opportunity to retake the course two times if the minimum score is not achieved on the first attempt.

COMPLETION CERTIFICATE

Upon successful completion of this online Hazmat Training: General Awareness course, a certificate of completion will be readily available for download and print.
