Integrated Health and Safety is a seven-module course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of how workplace health and safety programs can be enhanced and made more effective by integrating them strategically. The first four modules delve into the basics of workplace health and productivity as well as safety, offering guidelines on establishing and evaluating efficient health and safety initiatives.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Integrated Health and Safety course is a seven-module program that offers a comprehensive understanding of how to enhance and make workplace health and safety initiatives more effective through strategic integration. Modules 1 to 4 delve into the basics of workplace health and productivity as well as safety, offering guidelines on establishing and evaluating efficient health and safety initiatives. Modules 5, 6, and 7 then provide a blueprint for integrating these programs for augmented impact, including how to develop an overarching culture of health and safety. The course also includes instructions on using the Integrated Health and Safety Index, a novel tool that aids employers in setting up, measuring, and tracking integrated health and safety initiatives.

  • Understand the trends in workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses
  • Be able to describe the impact of safety on the workplace
  • Recognize representative metrics used for quantifying health and productivity costs

PASS MARK

Testing conducted in this online course is designed to reinforce the information provided. A score of 80% must be achieved to pass this course. The course can be attempted three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are available in the form of a comprehensive student manual.
