Gas Monitor Competence Training – MSA Altair5X / Altair 4 Gas Monitors
This course is designed to fulfill the OSHA 1910.146(h)(2) requirement for comprehensive understanding of MSA Altair 5X & 4 (or 4X) gas monitors. The necessity of this course stems from the fact that crucial information about these gas monitors is not included in the OSHA Confined Space Entry curriculum. This course also acts as a refresher on the perils associated with confined space entry.
This module is meant to complement, rather than replace, the user manual provided with your product. It’s crucial to thoroughly read the manual before operating the product. The product’s performance is contingent upon its usage and maintenance according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If neglected, improper performance may lead to serious injury or even death for those dependent on it for safety.
The necessity of the Gas Monitor Competence Training course stems from the fact that the gas detector, a vital piece of safety equipment, is not covered in the OSHA Confined Space Entry curriculum. Relying solely on OSHA courses may leave workers unequipped to operate their gas detectors efficiently and safely.
