The goal of Back Roads and Trail Driving is to enhance your driving skills and safety when traversing non-traditionally paved terrains like back roads and trails. Whether you’re driving for work or leisure, this course will equip you with the necessary knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

The Back Roads and Trail Driving course includes the following topics:

  • Identify safety procedures and safety equipment pertinent to back road and trail driving.
  • Understand driving techniques and precautions for unpaved surfaces, such as dirt or gravel roads and trails, and road shoulders.
  • Comprehend driving techniques and precautions for driving in various conditions like mud, snow, water, and sand.
  • Master various driving techniques for avoiding obstacles and collisions with other road users on back roads.
  • Understand driving techniques and precautions for hitching and pulling a trailer.

After completing the module, you will undertake the final test. A score of at least 80% is necessary to earn a certificate of completion. Don’t panic if you don’t pass the first time, you can attempt as many times as necessary.

PASS MARK

Testing conducted in the Back Roads and Trail Driving course is designed to reinforce the knowledge imparted. To earn a certificate of completion, a mark of 80% must be achieved. Participants can repeat the course twice if the pass mark isn’t achieved on the first attempt. Course materials are accessible online for printing.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and print. The certificate is valid for a period of three years from the date of completion.
