The course ‘Medical – Protecting Older Adults from Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation’ imparts crucial knowledge to healthcare providers, enabling them to effectively identify and report any signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation in their older adult patients.

Educational Goals:

• Define abuse and its impact on the elderly
• Spot the physical, behavioral, financial, and environmental red flags of abuse, and recognize the warning signs of potentially abusive caregivers
• Understand your duty and obligation to prevent and report abuse

Roughly 40 minutes

The course includes ongoing testing to help consolidate the material taught. To obtain a completion certificate, a score of 80% is required. If the pass mark is not initially achieved, participants have the option to retake the course twice.
