This Canada-compliant safety course, aptly named Mental Health First Aid, is designed for the general population. The training highlights the causative factors, indicative signs, symptoms, appropriate response techniques, and dispelling common fallacies about mental health. This course fulfills the classroom instruction requirement for occupational safety training. Furthermore, it incorporates a proficiency checklist for employers to conduct a practical evaluation. Upon completion, participants can download and print a certificate or wallet card as proof of their training in Mental Health First Aid as per Canadian standards. IMPORTANT: The employer alone can certify an employee. Certification prerequisites may differ amongst states or provinces. Please consult local standards for any additional occupational training requirements.
The Mental Health First Aid course we offer is aligned with OSHA and Canadian standards. The course modules cover the origins of mental disorders, the signs and symptoms, the appropriate response, and debunking misconceptions.
This course also features periodic quiz questions to prepare students for the final written examination. Besides the written test, the course includes a checklist for employers to follow when administering a practical exam, following OSHA’s requirements.
