Existing regulations such as OSHA, SARA Title III, and several state regulations require all facilities to have comprehensive emergency preparedness and crisis management protocols. These include having an Emergency Plan detailing the actions to be taken during an emergency. This plan, along with other crucial information, should be shared with the local emergency planning committee and emergency response groups like the police, fire department, etc.
