HAZWOPER: Exposure Monitoring and Sampling
HAZWOPER: MONITORING & SAMPLING EXPOSURE This educational course on HAZWOPER is designed to provide employees with an understanding of the Medical Program, which includes the necessary exams, both emergency and non-emergency medical care, available medical records, and the symptoms that might indicate injury or illness while dealing with hazardous materials during hazardous waste cleanup or emergency response operations.
This educational course on HAZWOPER: Exposure Monitoring and Sampling aims to provide learners with an understanding of exposure monitoring and sampling, including its purpose, pros and cons, the types and frequency of monitoring and sampling, the instrumentation involved, calibration and maintenance prerequisites, available sampling methodologies, and the significance of understanding results and maintaining meticulous records of collected samples.

Upon course completion, learners will have the ability to:
- Explain the objective of monitoring and sampling and the hazards that can be detected
- Enumerate the pros and cons of both monitoring and sampling
- Detail the varieties of monitoring and sampling, including air, personal, and environmental types
- Outline the frequency of monitoring and sampling, including initial and periodic instances
- Describe the tools used for monitoring, as well as calibration and maintenance prerequisites
- Identify a range of sampling methods, preparation strategies, and preservation techniques, including the chain of custody
- Discuss the importance of data analysis from monitoring and sampling, understanding influencing factors, and maintaining associated records
