Our Chainsaw Safety (Ontario) program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the essentials of safe and efficient chainsaw usage, including:

- Procedures for chainsaw maintenance and sharpening
- Effective tree-cutting techniques, such as notching and cutting, limbing and bucking, emphasizing on safety
- Danger zones in forestry and hazardous trees
- Appropriate operator posture
- Managing operator fatigue
Our Chainsaw Safety (Ontario) course covers the following areas:
- Safety protocols for chainsaw handling
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Necessary equipment
- Understanding the chainsaw
- Procedures for felling trees
- Different cutting techniques
Approximately 60 minutes
Knowledge evaluation is carried out throughout the course. Test questions are drafted to reinforce the material learned and must be completed by each participant. A mark of 80% must be achieved to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are permitted a maximum of two repeats if the pass mark is not achieved in the first attempt.
Successful participants of the Chainsaw Safety (Ontario) course will be able to download and print an online certificate of completion.
The online certificate retains its validity for 3 years post the course completion date.
