COURSE OVERVIEW


The final stage of road construction, paving, entails laying asphalt on the road surface. RSTS – Paving course discusses the different stages of paving operations wherein tasks are carried out by several individuals or groups, each having distinct roles and responsibilities, all working together to ensure safety. The course highlights common hazards during paving operations and how to mitigate them, thereby keeping the participant safe. The learner will gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire paving process, from milling to laydown operations in RSTS – Paving, including how to work safely with different types of mobile equipment and vehicles on site, the impact of location on paving operations, the significance of traffic awareness, and first aid procedures in case of hot ACP contact.

RSTS – Paving is designed for anyone involved in paving operations or road construction - milling crew, paving crew, ground workers, testing personnel, heavy equipment operators, and truck drivers. The course utilizes actual worksite videos to reinforce key concepts and terms, supplemented with text and imagery. Quizzes based on real-world scenarios are distributed throughout the course. Upon successful completion of the course with a minimum 80% score, the participant will receive a certificate.
